Robin Hood Rides into Beccles this Christmas

SparkLive Pantomimes will be bringing the popular king of outlaws to the Public Hall over the Christmas period in what promises to be a show packed with family fun.

Audiences will go on a journey with the swashbuckling hero during his mission to outwit the dastardly Sheriff of Nottingham and win the heart of his fair maiden, Marian.

Slapstick comedy, magical music and crowd participation are all a given – not to mention a huge helping of festive sparkle.

Robin Hood is led by Rebecca Jillings in the title role, Thom Bailey will play Friar Tuck and Daniel Hanton, who has hosted Sunday Night Live at Her Majesty’s Theatre, London, will take on the role of the pantomime dame Nurse Nellie.

Helen Harper is the Enchantress of the Forest and a cast member for the third year running, the hilarious Ross Chenery returns as Will Scarlett and Laura Watling will make her debut as Maid Marian.

And not forgetting Christian Manderfield, who is expecting plenty of boos and hisses in his role as the Sheriff of Nottingham.

Robin Hood is the third pantomime that SparkLive Pantomimes have brought to the hall in so many years.

James Aggett, general manager of Beccles Public Hall, said: “The last two years with SparkLive at the helm of our Beccles pantomime have been fantastic. We have seen hundreds of families come through our doors who have travelled from all corners of Norfolk and Suffolk to see the show.

“They are an extremely professional company who know exactly how to put on an event and I can’t wait to see what they have come up with this year.”

Ryan Holt, producer of SparkLive Pantomimes, promised some jaw-dropping surprises.

“Every year we try to build on the success of the last and this year will be no different,” he said. “We have got some seasoned professionals in the cast, who promise some action-packed family fun.

“It will be an all-singing, all-dancing comedy with some exciting spectacles that we hope all ages of the audience will enjoy.”

The show will run for 12 performances from Friday, 22 December to Monday 1 Jan.
