Wonderful Variety of Events this June

June brings us sunshine and a variety of events at the Public Hall starting with the firm favourite, popup pianobar, with Ian Sainsbury on Friday 2nd at 7.30pm.

Ian enjoys playing the Hall’s lovely old Steinway grand piano whilst further entertaining us with his singing and jocular sense of humour.  The atmosphere is relaxed and informal and aims to mimic Norwegian style piano bars where people can wander in and out to buy drinks from the bar and share a table with friends or make new friends on the night!


At only £7.50 per ticket for a wholly enjoyable evening,  you can’t beat this great atmosphere as Ian encourages a request or two.  Popup pianobar is set for Friday 2nd June at 7.30pm (doors open at 7pm)


On 9th June at 7.30pm Tom Elgie will be bringing us his special Tribute to Michael Bublé with special guest, Hello, a tribute to Adele.

We invite you to this special fundraising evening in aid of Cancer Research as you  enjoy an evening of Bublé classics. Tickets are £10 and £9 for concessions. (doors open at 7pm)

 On Saturday 10th June, The Pure Floyd Show returns to wow us again with a spectacular show guaranteed! The Public Hall team are delighted to be welcoming back the excellent tribute band to Pink Floyd, The Pure Floyd Show – a must-see for all Pink Floyd fans!

Following last year’s run of sell-out shows, The Pure Floyd Show return with their high energy playing and spectacular laser show. The eight piece band covers all eras of Pink Floyd’s catalogue, from the psychedelic 1960s through to Endless River.

“This show will include the whole of the Dark Side of the Moon, highlights from The Wall, along with other favourites, album classics and a few obscure songs thrown in to keep it exciting. A great night guaranteed”! said Andy Rodwell, Pure Floyd. Tickets are £15 and the doors open at 7pm for 7.30pm start finishing at approx 10.30pm – tickets selling fast!



The following Saturday the 17th June is a great opportunity for some classy disco dancing which will appeal to all lovers of the 70s and 80s scenes. Massive thanks to the amazing DJ Paul Allen for 70s and 80s Summer Disco Inferno – it’s set for Saturday 17 June at 8pm ’til Midnight (doors open at 7.30pm).

“The Summer Disco is fast becoming a firm favourite for quite a crowd of local people and we are so pleased to regularly offer something like this in Beccles for people to walk home from” said General Manager, James Aggett….He added, “don’t forget that we have an excellent ticket offer for groups of 5 or more – just £6 each instead of the standard ticket price of £8”

And finally……Quadrophenia!!

Beccles-based Spotlight Musical Theatre Group are staging a musical adaptation of The Who’s classic rock opera Quadrophenia, an East Anglia amateur Premiere,  from 27th June to 1st July – Five shows The Who fans should not miss.
This musical adaptation, set in 1964, follows the life of Jimmy Cooper, a young Mod taunted by his Egos ”Lunatic”, ”Romantic” and ”Tough”. A story of teenage angst, partying, riding scooters and brawling with Rockers! All Jimmy’s dreams are shattered when he loses his girlfriend Steph to his best mate Dave and ”Ace Face” is found to be a hotel Bell-Boy.
Tuesday night: All tickets £8 All other nights: Adults £12, Concessions £8.50. Shows start 7.30pm, doors open 7pm.
